I found this on somebodys collection and gave a listen based solely on the cover of the album. Not sure what I bought-- it's weird and fucked up,but in that good weird fucked up way. This will be great as background music for drawing sessions -- I'm sure the haunting ,drone-eee sound will lead to some creativity on the darker side of stuff. I liken it to buying really dirty blotter acid from a dude with dreads in Peoples Park.......you ask yourself " what the fuck am I doing?" and then the trails start,ideas start hitting you at a 100 m.p.h.,you find clarity in distorted sounds that you can't tell where they originated from.........and THEN- shiiittt, you spend the next day with your bones aching thinking " what the fuck was I thinking?" that is until the next time you try again to see if its any different. Weird...weird....weird,but in a good way that you just can't figure out.

The first Herbalists release was on loop for me for about a month and this second album has been even better. The aesthetic created by this album is stunning. The sense of adventure and awe, the fear and yet joy at the discovery. The Herbalists are in my rotation to stay!
